Overview

On May, 30-31 the Municipality of Termoli (IT) - Partner of the SMARTPORT Project - organized two working days dedicated to new and efficient energy strategies to save and store energy and improve the use of smart grid technologies.

The first event was scheduled on May, 30 in the morning, and was held in the Municipality of Termoli, at the Council Chamber. As foreseen by the Project, the Municipality of Termoli had to organize the Institutional Meeting open to representatives of local Institutions, public and private stakeholders, and professionals in order to promote and exploit the information derived from the Project, which has reached its final stages.

In the afternoon, during the 5th Steering Committee Meeting of the SMARTPORT Project, the Partnership had the opportunity to discuss Project implementation, possible delay or difficulties, and results achieved and schedule new activities to be carried out by the end of the Project, on 30.06.2023.

Following the Steering Committee Meeting, at 5:00 pm, the Municipality of Termoli organized the local round table that was held at Casa Museo Stephanus, in Termoli (Italy). The event was the occasion to discover and debate best practices regarding energy-saving technologies and it was attended by representatives of PPs, experts in the energy sector, and citizens interested in the discussed topic.

The 2nd working day was dedicated to the International Conference of the SMARPORT Project. The event was held in the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Termoli and was aimed at enhancing and promoting issues related to energy efficiency in the South Adriatic and Ionian port areas.

The "Smart and Sustainable Energy Port" Project is funded by the Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro 2014-2020 Programme. The Project aims to enhance South Adriatic and Ionian ports’ energy profile by introducing eco-sustainable LED lighting systems through pilot actions and adopting new and efficient energy strategies that combine the use of renewable energy sources, energy saving, energy storage, and smart grid technologies.
