On June, 27 2023, the Port of Bar (ME) organized the Final event of the SMARTPORT Project in Bar, at the Hotel Princess (Montenegro).
The event was the last Project activity and all Project Partners of the consortium were present in Montenegro to highlight the relevance of the Project results, the high quality of the work done, and the good cooperation among the Partners.
With SMARTPORT Project, the ports of the South Adriatic and Ionian areas have significantly improved their energy profile and agreed on a commitment to sustainable development and energy transition in port areas. The final event of this Interreg-IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro Project was also the occasion for the Partnership to discuss and finalize the protocol for RES and RUE - the final Project output - that will be the basis to empower further cooperations beyond the life of SMARTPORT Project.
The "Smart and Sustainable Energy Port" Project is funded by the Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro 2014-2020 Programme. Throughout its lifetime, the SMARTPORT Project aimed to enhance South Adriatic and Ionian ports’ energy profile by introducing eco-sustainable LED lighting systems through pilot actions and adopting new and efficient energy strategies that combine the use of renewable energy sources, energy saving, energy storage, and smart grid technologies.
